I still remember rushing to build the Pyramids only to have another civilization finish them one turn before me. The Great Library was always a priority, especially when my science was falling behind. Nothing was more satisfying than building Leonardo's Workshop and watching my outdated units get upgraded. Diplomacy was hilarious one turn you were exchanging technologies with the Romans, and the next they were demanding tribute and threatening war. I loved turning a small coastal city into a traading powerhouse with a harbor, marketplace, bank, and caravans. And who could forget bribing enemy cities with diplomats instead of wasting dozens of units attacking them? building the apollo program and finally revealing the entire map felt like a massive achievement. But my favorite moment was always launching that spaceship to alpha centauri while the rest of the world was still fighting over territory.
